- CCS Introduction - Enter Card Captor Sakura, an anime series unique in itself. It features a young girl, Sakura Kinomoto who was assigned to seal the 52 powerful Clow Cards which ran amok upon the opening of the Clow Book. Together with her guardian, Keroberos and her fellow Card Captor, Li Syaoran, they must strive to defeat all Clow Cards who wishes to display their mischief.
Card Captor Sakura is comprised of 12 manga volumes, 70 series episode and 2 movie releases. The show was first aired at Japan on April 7, 1998. |

- Sakura Kinomoto -
Sakura Kinomoto, a grade 4 student of Tomoeda Elementary School was left alone in their house not for reasons she was told of but for the events brought by her own fate to culminate. She was as usual, clueless at the time a loud noise came from their basement. Gathering all her courage, she prepared to face the worse; a monster ready to eat her perhaps or a ghost fervent to haunt her. None of what she was thinking happened and instead she saw a book laid on the floor, a book she later found out to have concealed the Clow Cards from time immemorial. It was a big mistake to have opened the tome for her actions had spread the Clow Cards like a disease, seeking to inflict trouble on whoever it sees. She wasn’t aware of the consequences brought about by her curiosity until the guardian of the Clow Book, Keroberos briefed her about the damage unrestrained Clow Cards are capable of and the measures to adopt to stop the latter from doing harm. Since not everyone could open the Clow Book, Keroberos concluded that she could very well return the cards to its true form. And thus her destiny begun as a Card Captor.
No one could have guessed she led a secret life as a Card Captor. Her cheerful and innocent personality masked the immensity of the responsibilities she carried over her shoulder. The fact that she had the fate of the world in her hands did not hampered her from leading a normal life. Instead, she lived her life to the fullest and enjoyed life as other child in her age did. And yet she is not aware of the fiercer battles to come, the secrets to unveil before her and the price she has to pay to attain victory. With her family always by her side, with friends ready to cheer her up and with guardians willing to sacrifice their lives for her; can she prevail?

- Tomoyo Daidouji -
Tomoyo Daidouji adored her best friend more than anything else in the world. Sakura Kinomoto had been the object of her fascination since the time they were kids. And now that she had discovered for herself the importance of Sakura in the preservation of world order, her fascination more than jumpstarted into an obsession.
Not only did Tomoyo designed Sakura’s costume every battle, she also caught all her fights on tape. She is artistically gifted after all and can proficiently fashion an outfit in a way that would look good on the Card Captor. She also had a desire to become a successful director someday and as such spent good amount of time in editing her captured scenes.
Up to what extent she could carrying out her hobbies cannot be limited by money alone. She is after all, the only daughter of a successful toy company owner and thus is granted virtually infinite resources to support her leisure pursuits. Her affluent stature had also imparted her with pleasing manners and ironically, unparalleled humility.
Tomoyo, even without the abilities to match up with the Clow Cards, can still provide significant help which in turn provides Sakura with the necessary upper hand. But the most important support she continuously give to the Card Captor is her ever-inspiring presence.

- Syaoran Li -
Li Syaoran was introduced first as a Card Captor from Hong Kong. Akin to Sakura’s ability, he can very well seal Clow Cards and can wield them later for his own use. At first he was competing with Sakura for the ownership of the Cards. But as they grew closer than both of them would admit, their competitive attitude turned into a mutual relationship.
Syaoran is actually from the Clow Lineage. In fact, as the heir to the leadership of the Li clan, capturing the Clow Cards are taken to his account. Thus her mother sent him to Tokyo together with their trusted warden, Wei to carry out his responsibilities.
Tomoeda Elementary School accepted Li as an exchange student and placed him on the same class as Sakura’s. Like Sakura, he is also athletic and particularly excels in soccer. And like Sakura, he also admires Yukito, for some reasons. At first it might be a little awkward to watch Li blushing whenever Yukito is around. In the end, an explanation is in order and all confusions are elucidated.

- Kero - chan -
Keroberos is the appointed guardian of the Clow Cards. In fact, the Clow Book had him embedded on its front as to signify Kero - chan’s reign over them. But as an accident jeopardized his task, he was forced to come out of his long slumber in a figure he did not expect to have.
As the Firey and Earthy Card should be both possessed by his master for him to remain in his true form, he was forced to deal with his miniature self, to his disappointment. Now he needs to offer his assistance to the Card Captor for him to gain what he wants back and for the Clow Cards not to cause further trouble.
Keroberos was not allowed by Sakura to come with her to school, nor was allowed by her to freely move around town. In certain events he was not able to escape the house, either from his failure to ride on Sakura’s bag or his failure to convince Sakura to bring him with her, he satisfies his boredom through stuffing his stomach with anything sweet or letting his competitive attitude at work through a day’s worth of video game addiction.. |
